PHANZ Advanced Thermal Bridge Calculations Course
Modelling a thermal bridge in Flixo is relatively easy; understanding when there is a need to model, what to draw and how to quantitatively interpret the results requires more experience.

This course is for people with pre-existing thermal bridge and Passive House modelling exposure.
The course will cover:
- Review of thermal bridging and thermal breaks in a Passive House and BAU context;
- Modelling of a selection of junction details using typical construction methods (as per High-Performance Handbook);
- Modification of these details to explore the impact on performance;
- Thermal bridge modelling as a design tool.
Homework will be set and reviewed at each session.
When: Monthly, second Thursday of the month, starting 10 August 2023, 6-8pm for 4 consecutive months
Course fee: NZ$ 920, inclusive of 15% GST; PHINZ member discounts apply.
Specific requirements: A (trial) download of Flixo (the typical Flixo trial period can be extended for participants to cover the duration of the course) and proficiency in CAD.
Prerequisites: This is not a course for beginners. You need to be using PHPP and have already been introduced to thermal bridges to enjoy this course.
