Set in a quiet cul-de-sac this four bedroom architecturally designed home has an ensuited master, two doubles, and single bedroom. The site was a little challenging with no northern aspect but with careful planning and a favourable climate Passive House certification was achieved. Built by the local eHaus team, Ian and Sharon Welch as a demonstration home  The main living space comprises of a modern slick kitchen and open plan dining/living areas, complete with large decks either side to provide that Hawke’s Bay indoor/outdoor living. The Zehnder mechanical heat recovery system plays its part in keeping the house at a constant temperature all year round. The joinery has been made in New Zealand by ThermaDura and used throughout. The polished concrete floor is pretty amazing with the special swirl effect creating the look of large marble tiles a real wow factor to the overall interior look and feel. Externally Vlada Acimovic, the architect, has used a combination of Cedar and BGC weatherboards contrasted with Schist.
