The Smith’s Greyview
This is a mid-build site visit to a new home targeting Passive House Classic Certification.
A completely different way to build a healthy, sustainable house in a provincial Kiwi suburban subdivision.
This house has Steico external wood fibre insulation, imported pine triple glazed windows, whole house mechanical ventilation and heat recovery and will be almost completely airtight. It will require 90% less energy to heat and cool, than the neighbouring homes, having been fully energy modelled by the owner, a Civil Engineer.
It is exactly the sort of cutting-edge house, you’d expect Mr & Mrs Smith to live in.
Come along, meet the owners and the build team, listen, look and learn to see for yourself what the future of housing looks like in Aotearoa.
Because it’s in a cul-de-sac can we please ask everyone to park on Kippenberger Avenue and walk up the footpath to the end of Grey View Close.
