Join Rafe Maclean,ย Rafe Maclean Architects, and the project team,ย for a case study on the Kauri Trees House, Taieri Beach, south of Dunedin which is currently under construction.
Rafe will discuss the architecture, its structural uniqueness, and the complexities of insulating an all-concrete building to reach Passive House performance metrics. Warren, Jason and Chris will share valuable and technical insights from their own perspective and involvement in the project.

Rafe Maclean is a leading New Zealand architect renowned for innovative residential designs and leads the Wฤnaka studio of Rafe Maclean Architects.
The studio has pioneered environmentally responsive architecture since its foundation in 2005 โ with its work blending passive house with aesthetic excellence.

Jason Wanden, Sto
Jason has spent over 30 years in the architectural, specification and construction industry, with practical experience across a number of sectors. With over 15 years project management and product evaluation experience with BRANZ, Jason has developed skills in product development, testing, consulting, compliance, and quality assurance.
For the last 8 years, Jason has been working as the Senior Technical Manager of Sto, assisting Sto Regional Managers with the delivery of render solutions to Architects and Designers, supporting them with the design and compliance process.
Chris Ross, Senior Product Specialist, Allco
Chris has in depth experience of the construction industry. With over 20+years of experience as an Architectural Draughtsperson, liaising with architects, engineers, builders and contractors.
His vast skill base assists our sales and QA team, providing technical support across all our products, from assessing Geotech reports to reviewing project documentation and producing site specific CAD detailing and specifications.
