You’ll gain the technical confidence to deliver proven performance and contribute to a transformative national impact.

Presenter: Jason Quinn, Sustainable Engineering

Also EECA will present on their latest Domestic Hot Water and Heat Pump research.

Hot water heat pumps – Insights into their real-world performance in New Zealand.

Hot water heating makes up about 30% of the average New Zealand household’s energy use.  Hot water heat pumps are an energy efficient and low emissions technology that significantly reduce household water heating costs. However, heat pump water heaters (HPWH) are still an emerging technology — particularly in the residential market.  EECA is working on a research series to understand more about the real-world performance of heat pump water heaters, and the market for them in New Zealand, and have recently installed around 80 in homes around New Zealand to study. We will discuss the project, and our insights and findings to date, and what we have learned about the market and best practice.

Presenter: Carolyn Shivanandan – Manager Standards and Technical, Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority

Carolyn has a background in product policy and regulation, and currently leads EECA’s standards and technical team, which focuses on improving the performance of energy using products and systems in New Zealand through the use of voluntary and mandatory standards, best practice information and product focused information and research.

Sponsored by Stiebel Eltron Jason and Carolyn will be joined by Bhawesh Singh, Technical and Planning Manager
