Passive House Open Days 2025

Location: Nationwide

Event details

Dates: 27 – 29 June 2025

What is it?

The Passive House Open Days is an event organised globally  by the International Passive House Association,  where owners open their homes and offices to the public to experience first-hand what a Passive House building feels like and to learn more information about building to the Passive House standard.

From 27 – 29 June 2025, Passive House homeowners and businesses invite the public to experience Passive House buildings, both residential and non-residential, for themselves, to enjoy the comfortable interior temperatures, view the ventilations system, ask questions and consider the range of possibilities of Passive House for your own building projects.

Why participate in this?

This is an excellent opportunity to share your journey to design and build a world class home or office, promote this way of building and what you have loved about the process and living in a Passive House.

Designers, builders, consultants, trades persons and suppliers involved in the project may be onsite to share their knowledge and experience about ultra comfortable, healthy and energy efficient buildings and answer any questions about the project.

Passive House Owners

The Open Days really come alive if there are many participating projects to view. Only through the generosity of current Passive House owners can others experience the benefits of Passive House first-hand. PHINZ understands the effort this can take and fully appreciates those willing to spread the word through the most motivating avenue of all: hands-on personal experience.

Projects can be at any stage – from under construction to fully occupied. Registration is free of charge.

Have you participated in previous Passive House Open Days and your project is not on the map? You can contact PHI directly at info@passivehouse-international.org to have your past project added.

  • To participate in the Passive House Open Days 2025, please register your project with us by completing the registration form.

You can submit a live, in-person tour or event or offer online tours, Q&A sessions or webinars. Projects can be at various stages – from fully occupied to under construction. Registration is free of charge .

Passive House Renovation Blenheim

Passive House Classic (In construction)

This 1990s cold and damp house is being transformed into a warm, healthy, and comfortable home, targeting Passive House certification.

To significantly reduce building waste during the renovation, we opted for ‘outsulating’ the existing home, rather than demolishing & rebuilding it. We retained most of the existing internal framing and the original concrete floor and wrapped the structure externally.

Key products used include Formance SIP panels, Pro Clima underlays, ThermaDura triple-glazed windows, and a Wolf ventilation system.

Whether you’re planning a new build, renovating, or simply passionate about energy-efficient design, we’d love to welcome you onsite during the Passive House Open Days 2025.
