An FMI Zero Energy (FMIZE) home produces as much renewable energy from solar panels on it’s roof as its occupants consume of the course of a year.  It achieves this net zero balance via a highly energy-efficient building envelop combined with the most fit-for-purpose appliances.  An FMI ZE ready home is an FMI ZE home without the solar panels.

Depending on technology and local incentives, surplus energy from the roof may be sold to the grid or stored.

Dr. Kolb Consulting provides planning and design services that are quintessentially German in their attention to detail and implementation. An expert building team ensures a successful certification of your project to low-energy or Passive House standards.

We are manufacturers and suppliers of window flashings for recessed window installation, to help improve the thermal performance of window joinery by recessing it into the frame line. Our flashing system has been tested to E2/VM1 with European window joinery.
