VIA architecture Ltd, the practice of Elrond Burrell, works nationally with prospective homeowners to design beautiful modern comfortable Passive House (Passivhaus) homes.

VIA architecture Ltd also consults to architects and designers to ensure their design can meet the Passive House standard without compromising their creativity. This includes; design reviews, detail reviews, PHPP modelling, energy and carbon modelling, thermal bridge modelling, blower door air testing, site observation. We also provide energy modelling and consulting services for projects not targeting certification and thermal bridge modelling services for Homestar projects.

Elrond Burrell, director of VIA architecture and Registered Architect (NZ & UK), is one of NZ’s most experienced Passive House Designers and has been designing and consulting on Passive House homes, offices, apartment buildings and schools in NZ, AUS, Canada, the Middle East and the UK for over a decade.

Bob Burnett Architecture has been an advocate for energy-efficient, environmentally sound architecture for two decades. Designing and building his own demonstration projects to create awareness for the community and industry about high performance design and construction.  He wants to help people understand the link between New Zealand’s suboptimal building code standards, that are around 20 years behind other OECD countries and alarming health and wellbeing statistics. In 2015 Bob founded the Superhome Movement and co-founded Quakestar rating system after the Christchurch earthquakes. Recently Bob received the Sustainability Superstar award by Sustainable Business Network.

A bespoke designer working in collaboration with other Passive House specialists to offer design and draughting services for high performance housing and Passive House design.

Phil recently completed the Certified Passive House Designer/Consultant Introduction course. He is now working on expanding this knowledge by following a practical pathway to achieving the Certified Passive House Designer qualification and is currently working on documenting his first Passive House project.
